What does connectivity mean

Connectivity ID: Access to more services
The connectivity ID provides access to the digital services in the vehicle and to the digital world of the manufacturer. In this app, you can access important information about the current state of the vehicle: e.g. whether doors and windows are locked (provided this function is available)
For example, if a customer has left their papers in their partner’s vehicle and does not have the second key to hand, they can use the connectivity services (the Remote Lock & Unlock service in this case) to unlock and lock the vehicle using the app. (Depending on the manufacturer, this service may not be free of charge.)
Activation of the ID as the main user in the vehicle
The activation of the ID as the main user provides full access to the vehicle. The type of activation depends on certain technical requirements.
Key authentification: In a wide range of vehicles, all vehicle keys must be used to activate the vehicle. To do this, at a certain point in the activation process, the “unlock” button must be pressed on all keys.
QR code: In this case, after the user logs in with their user data for the ID, A QR code is displayed, which can then be scanned using a smartphone. By scanning the QR code, the user is saved as the main user in the data.
Storing the preferred partner
Here, the user’s Losch garage of choice can be stored as the Preferred Service Partner, which should take care of all of the issues with the vehicle.
Storing the preferred partner in the app is convenient, but the “activation before handover” process in which the customer chooses the preferred partner when registering the vehicle in the dealership in an even simpler option.
Activating the service scheduling feature
When the automatic service scheduling feature is activated, the vehicle sends necessary inspections and warning messages directly to the Preferred Service Partner and prompts them to contact the owner to arrange this.
(The prerequisite for this is the relevant technical capability in the vehicle)
